Creata Ventures and Qazaq AI Research University sign a memorandum on joint AI research and student internships
Creata Ventures, the venture studio within Creata Group, and Qazaq AI Research University (QAIRU) have signed a three-year memorandum of understanding: joint research and development in artificial intelligence, and internships for university students in the group's projects.
The document was signed on 1 September 2026 — the first day of the university's first academic year. It was signed by David Tuganov, Director of the studio, for Creata Ventures, and by Rector Sapar Toksanov for QAIRU. The memorandum sets out five areas of cooperation; two of them start first.
Joint R&D. The parties will design and run research projects in artificial intelligence, machine learning and adjacent technologies: exchange of scientific and technical know-how, shared use of laboratory and computing infrastructure, participation of the university's researchers and faculty in the group's projects, joint publications and patent applications, and joint seminars and conferences.
Internships. QAIRU students will be able to take industrial, pre-diploma and research internships at Creata Ventures and the group's companies. Every intern is assigned a mentor and receives a written review for academic assessment; the university selects candidates under criteria agreed by both sides. The first tracks match the university's programmes: GenAI game development, image and video generation on open models, generative music production, Kazakh speech technology, and neurointerface signal processing.
