ALUMINICO joins the Creata Ventures portfolio: hot aluminizing that undercuts zinc galvanizing by 64%
ALUMINICO — the developer of the first horizontal hot aluminizing line with magnetohydrodynamic locks — has joined the Creata Ventures portfolio, anchoring the studio's DeepTech vertical.
Corrosion costs the global economy $2.2 trillion a year. Aluminium coating outperforms zinc, but hot aluminizing has only ever worked for flat products — sheet, strip and wire — leaving shaped structural steel such as angles, beams and pipes out of reach. ALUMINICO closes that gap: MHD locks hold the molten aluminium with an electromagnetic field, so the product passes horizontally through the chamber instead of being dipped.
The result is a 9× smaller bath, 62% less metal consumed per tonne, and coating at $53 per tonne against $147.5 for traditional zinc galvanizing. A pilot line is being built in Tashkent, Uzbekistan; the business model combines pilot production with technology licensing.
